Cuckfield Bookfest Weekend starting with Borde Hill Garden tour
Cuckfield Bookfest 3-6 October 2019 Now in its third year, we are excited to be offering even more events, beginning with a tour of Borde Hill Garden: Garden Tour with Head Gardener, a glass of prosecco and canapés, and a talk; Discover the delights of this Edwardian Grade II* listed garden famous for its rare shrubs and trees in the company of the head gardener, Andy Stevens. Vanessa Berridge, renowned garden writer and author of the recently published Great British Gardeners will introduce her book which traces the history of British gardening through the stories of 26 key figures including Christopher Lloyd, Vita Sackville-West and William Robinson. Vanessa will be in conversation with Andrewjohn Stephenson Clarke whose great grandfather created Borde Hill garden. Bookfest weekend is packed with authors on subjects such as royalty, mindfulness, postcard collecting, immigration, history, crime, espionage, politics, theatre, bookselling, gardening, cycling... and much more. Friday 4th

Cuckfield Bookfest Supper
This year we are introducing something (or someone) completely different for the supper - Robin Ince who is co-presenter with Brian Cox of the award-winning BBC Radio 4 show, The Infinite Monkey Cage. He has won the Time Out Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, was nominated for a British Comedy Award for Best Live show. The Observer called his book I'm a Joke and So Are You 'joyfully entertaining... full of warmth, wisdom and affectionate delight in the wonder and absurdity of being human.' Saturday 5th

Cuckfield Bookfest
Cuckfield Bookfest 3-6 October 2019 Author sessions start on Saturday morning in the Queen's Hall, covering subjects such as royalty, mindfulness, postcard collecting, immigration, history, crime, espionage and theatre and much more. Authors attending on Saturday include Jenni Murrray, Robin Ince, Simon Williams, Maggie Gee, Alan Judd, D.J. Taylor, Rachel Hore, Ed Halliwell and Jill Dawson. For children, the Old School in Cuckfield will be packed with fun. There are four events for young people ranging from three years to 13. Tickets start at £10 (and £5 for children's events). Sunday 6th

Cuckfield Bookfest
Cuckfield Bookfest 3-6 October 2019 On our final day we cover history, crime, espionage, politics, theatre, bookselling, gardening, cycling... and much more. Authors on Sunday include Penelope Lively, John Crace, Andrew Lownie, Tim Waterstone, Tim Tate and Clare Clark. There's a crime-writing workshop from Peter Guttridge and a delicious tea at Ockenden Manor on Sunday afternoon will be enhanced by a poetry reading from Greta Scacchi, plus a special event for cyclists: The Cycling Podcast by Richard Moore and Lionel Birnie. Cuckfield Preschool popular jumble sale Saturday 12/10/19 at the village hall 10.30-12.00 any donations of jumble accepted on the day between 8.30-9.30 pop up cafe selling refreshments and cakes too

Friday 18th

Cuckfield Craft and Vintage Market. Queens Hall.
first of two Christmas Markets, selling local home produce, vintage home ware, usborn Books, greeting cards, Aloe products and unique artwork and crafts. Come and support your local Market, bring a friend and try out the delicious cake with your morning coffee.
