Summer Show 2013

carry on logo

It’s time once more for the Cuckfield Society Summer Show to take centre stage, well all of it actually.

This year marks The Cuckfield Societies 50th Anniversary and in recognition of this landmark our story "Carries On" charting World events "Through The Ages" as seen through the "eye" of Cuckfield. The story begins with creation itself and makes its merry way via some important historical dates and events, prehistoric man, Cuckhenge, Robin of Blunts Wood, Henry V111, Dick Turpin, Suffragettes, Cuckfield Hospital all punctuated with some unexpectedly good song and dance and introduced by Sid, Babs & others!!

The show will be produced and directed for the last time by Paul Ruse and Peter Bowman and in these days of political correctness they have informed us that no innuendo or double entendre will be intended however if anything does happen to ‘slip out’ they apologise profusely in advance.

Why not join in the spirit of the evening - you know you love to dress up Dad! We will be awarding a prize to a member of the audience for the best fancy dress costume perhaps a historical ensemble or maybe a "Carry On" number! You knew that dress would be back in fashion!

Friday night tickets cost £10.00 (£5 for under 16’s) which includes light food "a la chaud chien" (sounds so much more enticing "en Francais" don’t you think), the Show and a "Happy Hour" in the bar from 19:00 with curtain up at 20:15.

Saturday night tickets are £14.00 for Cuckfield Society members and £16.00 for non members. This includes a free Pimms at our summer Pimms Party to be held at Marshalls in the High Street from 18:30, supper at The Queen’s Hall from 19:30 and the show; curtain up at 21:00.

Tickets are available NOW from Wealden Stores and Window Scene in Cuckfield or by email to Gerard Conway; gerard_conway@btinternet.com or by telephone 01444 413881. OR just use download our application form and email to Gerard or take in to either of the outlets.

Maybe we should remind you that this as an amateur production of the highest quality, some say this is surely one of the most amateurish you will find in the land, and remember it’s all for a good cause so fight for those tickets, dig out your glad rags and come along for a great evening of true variety and fun.
