The Mayor's Procession
- This year's Mayoral procession is on Saturday October 20th
Come and meet the new Mayor of the Independent State of Cuckfield accompanied by colourful floats and a band as they parade around the streets of Cuckfield. Or join the procession and support your organisation as well as the Independent State!
The Mayor's procession takes its format from the Lord Mayor’s Show of London. It starts from Warden Park School at approximately 2:30pm and makes its way up London Lane to London Road and Brainsmead, before coming back down the High Street for the Ceremony of the Keys outside the Talbot (formally the Court House) at approximately 3:30pm. This is followed by, entertainment, the chance to wander around the floats parked in the High Street and meet the procession characters, including the Lead Yokel, Mace Bearer & the High Sheriff of Cuckfield.

All floats and organisations taking part in the procession assemble at Warden Park School from 1:30pm, ready for the judging of the float competition (there is a cash prize), by 2:00pm. All organisations taking part receive a donation from Independent State from some of the money raised in the election.
